Affordance Studio is a 18-person team leveraging creative game design to redefine what play means for museums, events, classrooms, businesses and more. We’ve made learning games like Spellers for Alloprof and we’re currently partnering on Rainbow Billy, an entertainment game in 2.5D, which was funded on both Kickstarter and the Canadian Media Fund.
About the project
Windigo is a narrative exploration video game drawing inspiration from the likes of Firewatch and Journey. The player plays two characters whose narratives intertwine like a “choose-your-own-adventure”. From a first-person point of view, the player crosses the territories of 17th century Canada, and discovers two completely different perspectives that reflect the respective POV of our two protagonists on their environment and their adventures. Their personal quests intersect as they must traverse the wild and hostile lands through the seasons, where cold winter is imminent … and the Windigo lurks.

Our offices are located in the heart of the Mile-Ex neighborhood (intersection Beaubien and Parc) right near Little Italy. We share offices with six other game studios and three service companies, so we often organize game jams and hold gaming nights. You don’t have to love games to be on our team but you have to love having fun to join this tribe.
